What is propane?
Propane is a clean-burning, energy-efficient fuel used for heating, cooking, water heaters, generators, fireplaces and more. It’s stored as a liquid and turns into gas when released through your appliance or meter.
Is propane safe?
Yes. Propane has one of the strongest safety records in the energy industry. It’s non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and contains a special odor to make leaks easy to detect.
What should I do if I smell propane?
Leave the area immediately, avoid using electrical switches or open flames, and call your propane provider once you’re in a safe location. Safety first, always.
How often do propane tanks need to be refilled?
It varies by usage, but most homes refill once or twice a year. Homes with propane heat, tankless water heaters, or fireplaces may require more frequent fills. We offer keep-full options, so you never run out.
What is keep-full service?
This means we monitor your tank level and refill it before it gets low. No checking gauges, no stress, no running out.
How do I read my propane tank gauge?
Your gauge is located under the lid and displays a percentage. A full tank reads about 80% (due to safety expansion space). We recommend calling for a fill when it reaches 20-30%.
Do you install propane tanks?
Yes. We offer installation, leak checks, pressure tests and guidance on proper placement.
Can propane be used for commercial or oil-field operations?
Absolutely. Propane is widely used in agriculture, commercial heating, industrial
equipment, and oil-field applications. Groves Propane supplies all three reliably.
Do I own my propane tank?
Some customers own their tanks, while others lease them. If you are unsure, we can help you check your setup and explain your options.
